I picked up a couple of new cds yesterday...I usually have to listen to a cd at least 3 times to determine whether or not I like it...but these were quick wins. Check 'em out...
Pocket Full of Rocks Song to the King
Hard to describe...hmmm. They're an eclectic group with a cutting edge, foot-tapping style of worship. I was most intrigued by their name...Pocket Full of Rocks. Their website says their name comes from the story of David – before he was ever a great king, he was simply a boy with a “pocket full of rocks,” believing God would do something great using any of the small things he himself could offer. Such a cool name!
Side note: They're going to be at CreationFest 2006.
Shawn McDonald Ripen
Shawn McDonald is a singer-songwriter from Seattle. I love his raw, acoustic sound...it's peaceful and reflective, yet sophisticated at the same time. He has very honest lyrics and a soulful, engaging voice. It's the kind of music that makes you want to sit back, close your eyes and just take it all in.
Side note: He's going to be in concert in Newberg in September. Who's going with me? :)

It's been a bit since I've checked in but I'm glad I did. I will add the book to my next walmart list. I'm glad someone I know is keeping up with the sox... in my lack of time I never know what they are doing!
