Last night the kids and I watched Annie. It's a favorite from my younger years...in fact, one of the most frequently told stories of my childhood is how I used to stand in the shower and belt out the song "Tomorrow" at the top of my lungs and slightly off-pitch. So...when I saw it at the library, I decided my kids needed a little culture...80's culture. :)
They liked it...even Jay. Their comments throughout the movie made me laugh. We don't watch a lot of musicals, so the singing and dancing scenes always crack my kids up. At one point in the movie, Grace (Mr. Warbuck's personal secretary) is dancing with the limo driver because she is excited that Mr. Warbuck's is adopting Annie. It was a pretty intense dance scene...he was swinging her around, legs were flying, etc.
Giggling ensues...then...
Lucas: "That dude must REALLY love her!"
Me: "Why do you say that?"
Lucas: "Well...a man only dances like THAT if he wants to get married!"
So...uh, hunny? How come you never danced like that? LOL.
